this holiday i'm done for.. i'm becoming a kid.. a xiao hai zi..

every morning i'll wake up.. i'll watch cartoons and at the same time eat coco pops!!!!!!

omg i'm really becoming a xiao hai zi.

anyway this xmas was quite happy! had mahjong at cousin's hse then after dat went to eat dinner with their family.. and we ate at a seafood restaurant at pasir panjang.. ok la but super ex. the crab is super spicy esp the chilli crab.. the white pepper crab was nice but a bit spicy too..
and each of us had one sharkfin soup with abalone.. except cindy who is against animal-abuse esp sharkfins.. hahax.. quite a nice dinner!

well, no xmas present this yr.. but boxing day sale is still good! hahaXx.. boxing day went shopping with cindy again.. and found quite a lot of nice stuff and i actually MIGHT buy. she bot a cardigan for her bro.. quite nice.. coz her bro dun haf cardigan.. and i saw a yellow cardigan i liked but erm... ya still must consider. T_T

oh yah i chatted with dixie this afternoon! and she might b able to help mi buy birkenstock!! YAY! hahaxX.. i sooo look forward to meeting her.

and i ssooo look forward to going america or europe!!!

xmas eve gifts

saturday went ah ma's hse to eat tang yuan... then at nite had pri school gathering which turns out quite successful!! hahaXx.. first time there were more gers than guys.. and we ate at mexican rest. at holland v.. ok la quite nice i ate the popiah which u must wrap urself. hahaXx

thennnnnn rushed to airport coz my cousin is coming back frm US!!!!! WAH!!!! she went there to study and came back for the holidays lor.. wahh so long nv c her already.. and her classmates were there too... din expect so many ppl to turn up coz i tot only mi and her bro picking her up. hahaXx.. it was quite a dramatic scene when her friends saw her and her closest friend vivian were filled with tears when she saw her... hahaXx. yay she helped mi bot stuff too!

anyway we ate at popeye's!! and i think the standard drop already thou. then amy drove us home..

and sunday she came over to my hse after visiting ah ma coz she passing mi the thing she helped mi buy!!!! SUPER NICE! i shall keep it a surprise. hahahXx actually onli those hu noes it will think it's nice la.. coz its quite rare can't get it in spore.. and ppl will recognise it. hahaXx.. then went holland v coz she needs to do her brows then... went raffles city shopping a whole... and saw LOADS of things i wanna buy but my wallet dun allow... then met up with her friend lala and ate at waraku.. pizza is still super nice...and desserts at menotti. half priced still but they changed their menu.

haha it's so nice to have her back...

anyway i realised teeagers nowadays really like to eye and buy branded stuff man.. tsk tsk.. it's quite an unhealthy habit.. but it helps move the economy.. sad to say i'm one of them. hahahXx

i need/must buy a lot of stuff after ns.. haix... haha i think i make this list b4 a lot of times.. but i really need to remind myself to look out for these stuff.

MUST and NEED to buy:
1. Handphone: eye-ing the new sony erricsson W890i which is not out yet.... anticipating it.. hope it'll come out real soon!! my nokia 6230 is like 3 yrs already.

2. Spects: ehh my tutee's dad's shop saw 1 or 2 nice ones.. one is ck one.. another is reebok.. i saw some quiksilver ones which i wanted too.. hm... dunno if i should get it at his shop or elsewhere. my current one is 3 year old already.

3. Watch: my swatch is officially dead. and it's lasts for 7 years already!! good old swatch irony. it's a bdae present too. and have been using my sis's addidas ever since. hahaXx.. i need a classic/metro watch!! have been going around to look out.. fossil.. all dat. agnes b is super ex.

WANT to buy:
1. A pair of birkenstock: coz my sandles going to cui soon.. the strap is tearing!

2. Wallet: my good old ripcurl zip cannot make it already. i really love the wallet i think i've been using it for SUPER LONG. i think since sec 3 or sec 2. 5-7 year already!! felt emotionally attached to it coz used for SOOO long and it was a gift. and i've got another wallet also as a present but nv use it leh.. nt enuff compartments... was eye-ing the agnes b one.. argh. haven seen the price also. hahaXx..

3. Polo shirts: i realised my wardrobe lacks those polo tshirts.. polo material with horizontal stripes. yupz.

4. Messenger Bag: althou i have crumpler already... but a classic and good messenger bag is still needed. agnes b again. hahahahaXx

5. PSP: no comments. i din even bother highlight the fonts. shall. resist.

some updates on my pre-uni activities... i MIGHT be going europe with my frens to travel around for 1 month.. in april till may.. OR might be going america to visit my cousin either feb right after i regain freedom or june where her bro regains freedom and visit together!! so either one i'm going.

dat's like so exciting. i hope i can go for both. WAHAHAH.

In the British Medical Journal this week, researchers looked into several common misconceptions, from the belief that a person should drink eight glasses of water per day to the notion that reading in low light ruins your eyesight.


"We got fired up about this because we knew that physicians accepted these beliefs and were passing this information along to their patients," said Dr. Aaron Carroll, assistant professor of pediatrics at the Indiana University School of Medicine. "And these beliefs are frequently cited in the popular media."


And so here they are, so that you can inform your doctor:


Myth: We use only 10 percent of our brains.


Fact: Physicians and comedians alike, including Jerry Seinfeld, love to cite this one. It's sometimes erroneously credited to Albert Einstein. But MRI scans, PET scans and other imaging studies show no dormant areas of the brain, and even viewing individual neurons or cells reveals no inactive areas, the new paper points out. Metabolic studies of how brain cells process chemicals show no nonfunctioning areas. The myth probably originated with self-improvement hucksters in the early 1900s who wanted to convince people that they had yet not reached their full potential, Carroll figures. It also doesn't jibe with the fact that our other organs run at full tilt.


Myth: You should drink at least eight glasses of water a day.


Fact: "There is no medical evidence to suggest that you need that much water," said Dr. Rachel Vreeman, a pediatrics research fellow at the university and co-author of the journal article. Vreeman thinks this myth can be traced back to a 1945 recommendation from the Nutrition Council that a person consume the equivalent of 8 glasses (64 ounces) of fluid a day. Over the years, "fluid" turned to water. But fruits and vegetables, plus coffee and other liquids, count.


Myth: Fingernails and hair grow after death.


Fact: Most physicians queried on this one initially thought it was true. Upon further reflection, they realized it's impossible. Here's what happens: "As the body’s skin is drying out, soft tissue, especially skin, is retracting," Vreeman said. "The nails appear much more prominent as the skin dries out. The same is true, but less obvious, with hair. As the skin is shrinking back, the hair looks more prominent or sticks up a bit."


Myth: Shaved hair grows back faster, coarser and darker.


Fact: A 1928 clinical trial compared hair growth in shaved patches to growth in non-shaved patches. The hair which replaced the shaved hair was no darker or thicker, and did not grow in faster. More recent studies have confirmed that one. Here's the deal: When hair first comes in after being shaved, it grows with a blunt edge on top, Carroll and Vreeman explain. Over time, the blunt edge gets worn so it may seem thicker than it actually is. Hair that's just emerging can be darker too, because it hasn't been bleached by the sun.


Myth: Reading in dim light ruins your eyesight.


Fact: The researchers found no evidence that reading in dim light causes permanent eye damage. It can cause eye strain and temporarily decreased acuity, which subsides after rest.


Myth: Eating turkey makes you drowsy.


Fact: Even Carroll and Vreeman believed this one until they researched it. The thing is, a chemical in turkey called tryptophan is known to cause drowsiness. But turkey doesn't contain any more of it than does chicken or beef. This myth is fueled by the fact that turkey is often eaten with a colossal holiday meal, often accompanied by alcohol — both things that will make you sleepy.


Myth: Mobile phones are dangerous in hospitals.


Fact: There are no known cases of death related to this one. Cases of less-serious interference with hospital devices seem to be largely anecdotal, the researchers found. In one real study, mobile phones were found to interfere with 4 percent of devices, but only when the phone was within 3 feet of the device. A more recent study, this year, found no interference in 300 tests in 75 treatment rooms. To the contrary, when doctors use mobile phones, the improved communication means they make fewer mistakes.

"Whenever we talk about this work, doctors at first express disbelief that these things are not true," said Vreeman said. "But after we carefully lay out medical evidence, they are very willing to accept that these beliefs are actually false."

staying at home feel really great. as opposed to staying in dat dreadful hellish place called camp. really refreshed my soul.. hahahaXx.. (sounds like a SPA advert) and my ears are cleansed of noises and zha sheng. really. i can do wadever i want.. sleep how long i want.. watch tv whole day long.. nothing can control mi!! and the best thing is.. no noise!!! yeahhhhhhhhhhh.

and finally went kbox!!!! and finally with the usual gang ting and yu! sooooo long nv c ting already!!! yay so funnn it's been months since i stepped into the kbox. and lunch sucks anyway. hhaha.. dessert is GOOD.

and after dat went for the annual choir camp at RV... WE SANG A LOT OF CAROLS!!!!!!! YAYYYY THE XMAS SEASON IS FINALLY COMING BACK!!!!!!! i tell u every year there's no xmas feel coz WE NEVER CAROL!!!! CAROLLING BRINGS THE XMAS FESTIVE MOOD!! REALLY!! we sang rudolph... deck the hall.. rocking around.. merry xmas... 12 days of xmas... WOW MERRY XMAS!!!!!!!! i really love singing carols during xmas seasons!!!!!!! super feel!!

then the next day i went for dinner with sean coz we need to discuss something.... and he drove his godfather's Audi TT... for ur info it looks like this:













omg i can't bliff i went on a ride in that sports car man. so luxurous.. and i was at the busstop where he picked mi up and all the ppl were like staring at mi.. then inside it's super cool there's this touchscreen tv and u press a button it'll slide down to reveal the DVD player. omg. super cool.

and there's this sports gear when u changed to a sports gear u accelerate damn fast and it was like sitting on a plane taking off... hahaXx.. well.. rich ppl haf money to buy dat car man.

anyway we went to holland v for dinner at pizza bar (he recommended) which serves quite nice pizza for an average price.. it's quite good actually... but waraku is still the best. hahahXx.. anyway after dat we went demsey hill to visit regina.

first time i went to demsey hill!! quite cool la the place.. but the restaurants are all veryyyy ex.. think the cheapest is ben n jerry's la. hahaXx.. the ambience there is great!! super cool place... but really there's nothing much to hang out except ben n jerry's la.. hahaXx..

regina treated us to waffles and ice cream.. yay!! had cherry garcia, chunky monkey and chocolate temptations which is choco ice cream with choco cookies and choco pudding... suuuuuuuuper nice and chocolatey!! and we had ALL the toppings... choco rice.. peanuts.. m&ms... hot fudge and caramel fudge... wah it became damn sweeet... but the waffles and ice cream combination is stilllll heavenly!!!!

after dat went home for my fav show at 9pm... hahahXx... loves felicia chin. yay.

well.. time for somexmas shopping.. or window shopping.. oh and i really need a pair of birkenstock!! my brazillian sandals got a cut by the side.. and it's gonna cui real soon. argh. birkie!!!!

back to kuishin bo

i juz realised its been long since i posted pictures!!! hahaXx i shall do dat later!!

anyway i think my xmas this year will b quite a quiet one... i really miss the carolling times!!!! xmas is nothing w/o carols!!! the songs make up the atmosphere! and many friends will b overseas this season... i was almost spending my xmas overseas too.. it's really a bit boring to spend it in spore thou.

toys also make up part of xmas!! many parents will buy toys for their kids... i juz walked past the toy fair at lot 1 and saw all the toys... if i were still a kid i dun think i'll fancy those toys...

i still remembered the first ever BIG toy i had is lego space police.. i think it's the biggest toy i had in a few years so i remember it so clearly and well. coz its like a present for mi since i've been getting first in class in pri 1 for 2 times.. and i think it cost 120+ or 89+ i forgot if there was a discount.. it's bot from a lego toy store in jurong west.. hahaXx. my mum ask mi to choose but i dun really noe how to choose and i was a bit stupid i said i wanted the bag from the next door. hahaXx..

and i still have the space police!! it's rather impressive! and frm then onwards starts my fanatic obsession with lego.. no other toys attracted mi except lego and power rangers. ahhaXx my first power ranger was dragonzord! but it's sold to my cousin already. as i was saying i din like any toys except lego and power rangers.. not even cars. so everytime i'll go to the lego and power rangers section onli. and now i'm still obsessed with lego la. hahaXx...

back to now...
i've bot a cardigan from zara finally!! dark green. dat's my first cardigan! i haven done much xmas shopping thou.. coz i'm saving it up for my driving and cny and euro trip next yr!! yeah i might b going europe next year with wai and lyn!! i really really wanna go overseas.

oh then i went to watch golden compass!!! superrrrrr niceeeeeeeeee!!! i love the animals.. i can't wait for the subtle knife and amber spyglass!!!

the local version of golden compass: the golden path.... is super good too!! watch channel 8 9pm show!!! super nice!! i think it's the nicest local show after holland v.

and yesterday we went to eat kuishin bo!!!! yayness it's really a good and worth it jap buffet. once u ate kuishin bo u wun wanna go other jap buffet like sakae already. seriously. then after dat went cathay to watch Mr Magorium's Wonder Emporium... which is.... movie full of magic! i guess if u'r a kid u'll love it a lot.. but overall it's quite nice and heartwarming.. it's really magic. and some scenes it's super farnie.. like how they call the accountant an accounting mutant. and fun and mental becomes fundamental.

life is really a mysterious thing.

life is really fragile.

once it's gone it's really gone... so everyone says live each day to the fullest. but issit really possible...

i had a deep heart-to-heart talk with woon on friday after we ate at waraku..(the pizza is really the best).. regarding our friend passing on another place.. he really had much to do in life.. there's sooo much more he could do.. but he just can't help it. fate takes him away just like that. and left a rather deep impact on all related to him..

truthfully, i really din noe him well.. as in not good friends, just normal friends.. after he was gone i asked myself if i had regretted not knowing him well enough... i really dunno the answer.. but i must agree that at some point of time i regretted not talking to him more... not giving him the priority.. but he din really mind it he was a really great person. i really do feel bad abt it.

it's like after people are gone then u start to know how to cherish people... start to remembering them.. and reminded of how nice they are and all dat.

it's usually when this type of uncontrollable and irreversible events happen then u start asking urself, when is it ur turn? or will it happen to other people? it can happen to anyone anytime.

do u start making precautions or get ready for it? do you think u'r ready for it?
