JAY CHOU WORLD TOUR LIVE 2010

The tickets were pre-released for OCBC card holders and they were sold out in 2 hours, so they had to arrange for an additional day for the concert, and tickets were sold out in 40 minutes.

That is the power of Jay Chou.

Honestly I just wanted to see how his concert will sound like and i totally didn't expect it to be that impressive!!!

the 3D effects were so good, that we couldn't tell between the real and fakes!!
That is really impressive considered we have watched so many 3D concerts and this is the best i've ever seen.

There was this flat screen with a window in which he was in it and all of us thought it was fake but it was the actual person! and then the surroundings changes around him. Another time was, i think, he was walking on a treadmill and the backround zooming out, creating an illusion that he's walking out of a castle!

Although half of the concert were his new songs which i haven heard, and his singing wasn't 'ah mei' level, the stage effects, dancing, live music and his olddies are so well coodinated altogether and made the whole concert world class and every ticket should have worth more.

He can really perform and spread his charm to the audience-could also be due to his accumulated past experiences. Yanzi went to watch and sat beside his mum and grandma, and Jay sang Yan Lei Cheng Shi for her.

He's got the moves! Shuang jie gun for the last song, he left us hanging and wanting more and more, including me. haha

This concert is the BOMB! The BEST concert i've ever been to. Yet.

the masterchef I

Pan-fried Norwegian Salmon with garden herbs and scrambled eggs.

All you need:
Norwegian Salmon
Corn flour
Extra Virgin Olive Oil or any other veg oil
A little bit of salt
Some garden herbs
2 eggs

1. Pick out the bones in the Salmon and season with corn flour, salt and garden herbs.

2. Using small fire, first pan fry the side without the skin because the skin gets cooked more easily than the fish itself. you can see the progress of the frying by looking at the side, where the red portion turns into flaky pink salmon. The whole process takes about a few minutes.

3. Turn the salmon to cook both sides for a few minutes each, and lastly to the part with the skin. The other side should appear crispy brown and pink like this. Notice the difference in colour between the cooked and uncooked side?

4. The perfect salmon should look like this, crispy brown on the outside.

5. Fry scrambled eggs and serve.

ok i was too hungry that i just ate it on the counter. Perfect! The whole salmon was cooked as compared to the last time i cooked. Pink and moist in the inside, crispy on the outside. The highlight is the skin! Soooo crispy.

Total ingredients cost: $5.70 for the salmon at NTUC, all others taken from the fridge.
Taste: Better than restaurant quality
Satisfaction: Priceless

Last day at HSBC

Thursday 22-July-2010 adds another job experience to my resume, and my last day at HSBC.

I could say this was one of the best job experience i had, and closer to what i hoped to achieve in a bank. It is more of an internship rather than a temp job though.

Basically I'm doing forfaiting, which is a special and niche kind of trading dealing with imports and exports with different kind of financing and investing. It's a very small department but we earn millions everyday. YES, EVERYDAY. scary huh. I'm supporting the frontline by preparing the documents for the bank and investors while the marketing side make deals, so my job is on the spot everyday, cant be delayed or else there will be trouble.

Its wrong to stereotype bank cultures because working culture depends on your type of work, office and colleagues. I'm fortunate to be in this environment where most of my colleagues are mothers so i get very well taken care of. haha. They are like a big family and not afraid to speak out freely, therefore there are no office politics at all.

Really rare or unheard of NO, ZERO, NONE office politics in the office, perhaps because all of them has been working for more than 20 years and most of them are really smart mothers. Politics are for immature and childish bitches.

As usual, desk-bound jobs is boring after while and it happened after i've learnt everything within a month, it became quite routine and i finished my work so fast that i always had nothing to do 1 or 2 hours in betweens and before knock off. After a month i told myself i'm never going to get a desk-bound job which involves staring at the computer everyday for long hours i.e. bank jobs . Well, its just a temporary, don't expect too exciting stuff.

Over these two months i had been involved in quite a few company eating events and very well fed. The first few days when i came in our boss always buys teatime snacks, next is karen's farewell when we had a mini party in the office, then there was this random lunch at Raffles Hotel Royal China Restaurant, lastly my (sort of) farewell party with many desserts and sweets. I was quite shocked they were observant about my eating habits, for example they know that i like sweet stuff and not dry pastries. Reason: you know, caring mothers. One of the reasons why i became fatter.

oh and i had rendezvous with many many of my friends working in the area!!! liwen, hiang, reika, liujun, huiyu, reuben, bernice, santek and peixuan! My lunchplace never changes at Golden Shoe, cheap and good, the best chicken rice i've eaten in Singapore is found there. I miss my Dark Chocolate Mint 100% FAT-FREE frozen yoghurt and my rasin cream bread beside it!!! Luckily reuben, huiyu and me ate everything before i left. hee.

Contacts and networking are very important. haha my boss actually said he'll welcome me back after i graduate in 2 years time, this time i hope i'll do the marketing part.

oh wells, who know what the future holds for me.

Now my future lies in Exxonmobil.

Inception

Complex storyline but simple enough for the general audience to understand.
Simple characters but deep character development throughout the story.
Good moving pictures and better connection between scenes.
Action, Fantasy, Comedy, Adventure, Romance, everything you want in a film,
Inception easily wins the movie of the year from me!

Another winner from Christopher Nolan, the entire story plot is so original and captivating, it almost made me lose my mind while watching! It seemed so real that it kinda freaked me out when I actually had to convince myself that I wasn't in a dream several times during the movie.
Its inception within inception, planting an idea into the audience subconciously through the movie, which is dangerous for some.

Very good acting by Ellen Page and Joseph Gordon Levitt! Especially the anti gravity coridoor scene when he had to move around and do stuff. ha

While the CGI looks fake at times and the ending is a little disturbing, i can't wait for another great film by Chris Nolan! Batman 3!!

Inception is a real must-watch this summer!!!

what the fish!

one. you make a mistake and you just say oops and get away with it? because of your mistake it multiplies the loss by 4 times do you know that?? freaking 4 times!!! and what? you just escape by treating me to what, tau huay? you are the ultimate winner. just at least be responsible and offer to mayb cover a little of the loss with your profit. and now i am paying for your mistake while you earn money from it? ultimate winner. how am i going to explain now? no need to explain ok. i cover everything. i absorb all the loss ok. and you dun have to pay or do anything. i pay for everything. i pay for you mistakes. fine. ok? i see how you still have the conscience to get it from me.

two. freaking hell. you dunno whats going on you just shut your trap. i already told you i am not to be messed with and you continue to poke the lion. another ultimate winner. what, you think you are so smart? you know everything? do you know the whole story? you think i like to pay for other's mistakes? why not you pay for me then? you think the loss is very little? did you fail your maths? you failed your maths and you dare to tell me i am throwing a fit? are you freaking kidding me? so? do i throw fits when i'm driving around? you want me to charge fares? you think petrol falls from the sky? you think i am so damn free? you think its easy? come on, just make use of me ok? just take advantage of me everytime! all the way! dont let loose! take everything ok! i see how you can still be so smart without me.

three. what? pissed off because i foresee something? so freaking ridiculous! i dun even mean anything and you are pissed? you think i always do that? YOU are the one who always do that. ridiculous mood swings. such a small matter that dont even mean anything to me. fine. be pissed for the rest of your life.

some Marvel-ous news

1. Sony pictures is rebooting the Spiderman series, and the new Peter Parker is..........
Ernest Soh! ok just kidding.
It's an British actor Andrew Garfield, and the director Marc Webb (remember 500 days of summer?) and so it should be almost on par with Sam Raimi's!
and no, they did not recruit him because of the 'Webb'.

2. Marvel posted on its facebook fan page recruiting interns!!!! YESS!!!!!!!
Its every comic boy's dream to intern at Marvel, be the first to read all Marvel comics before its published and most importantly, have Spiderman surround you all day.
Its also said that Marvel recruits most of its intern for employment!

Unfortunately, its non-paying, located in New York and most likely millions are going to apply, AND i only quality as Editorial Operations and Print Production intern.
Oh plus i already have an intern company. Bummer.

check out the website:
http://marvel.com/company/index.htm?sub=careers_current.htm

3. San Diego Comic Convention aka Comic-Con 2010 is gonna start from 22-25 July 2010 and ticket are long sold out.
New York Comic-Con starts from 8-10 October 2010 and tickets are on sale now. Guess who are the guests?

The legend himself Stan Lee, John Romita Sr and John Romita Jr!! 3 of the best writers of Spiderman appearing for autographs!!! TRIPLE OMG!!!! Wished i could be there.

Both Comic-Cons are the almost the largest conventions in US. Its my dream to go to at least one in my entire life, just for the fanboy experience. Hm.. maybe for grad trip or something.

So meanwhile i'm stuck here, the Singapore Comic-con is the best I can get, which is sometime in December.
