宅ness

dear blog i have no neglected you but same old reason: i've been very bz in school.

well the catching-up on work is almost done, with quizzes ongoing almost everyday this week, the rest is up to recess week.
that's the price u pay for not doing tutorials punctually although u attend lectures. hope it'll be better after recess, if not i'm really done for.

we have not really met up with kiat after he came back so last friday we had dinner at relish, good burgers (but i dunno if they enjoyed it) and cozy place!
we precelebrated kenny's bdae and farewell for kiat. he's flying off to UK again in a weeks time!

yes, i do admit this is a really zhai picture coz i had my buttons up and schoolbag.
my plaid shirt came all the way from hong kong. i was eyeing it in tw but it was like sgd80+ and waiyin got it for sgd30 there! woohoo! it was on 50% off.

and the most irritating thing is, since i-dunno-when they started calling me ah zhai coz i am a Zhai Nan!?!??!

WHAT?!?!?!! ME = AH ZHAI 阿宅!??!

i admit, i do love gundams and lego, anime and comics, spidey and transformers all that.. but isn't that most guys love?!?! is that a 宅 thing?!

so ridiculus!!!

how i be labelled as 宅 when i dun spend hours playing soccer games or checking soccer news or play facebook mousehunting games like my 2 roomates!??! and i know more people who dun have a life on weekends coz they dun go out!

yes, i go online a lot coz i need to do work, research, facebook, check emails, and most of all watch gossip girls and online shopping!! do 宅 people watch gossip girls and online shopping!??!! arghhhh

there are so many 宅-er people than me i can't bliff their standard of 宅 is so low!!!
there's nothing wrong with being 宅 but i just can't bliff i'm labelled as one.

Disney's Marvel

I CAN'T BLIFF ITTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT

woon told mi about the acquisition of Marvel by Disney and i still CAN'T BELIEVE IT MAN!!!

OMGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG

DISNEY AND MARVEL!??!?!

HOW CAN U RELATE THEM TOGETHER?!?!?!?

IT'S LIKE SAYING SPIDERMAN AND MICKEY TOGETHER!!!!!

HOW CAN IT BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

MY MARVELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL

I DO NOT WANT TO SEE THE DISNEY LOGO ON MY MARVEL COMICS!!!!!!!

I DO NOT WANT TO SEE LITTLE MERMAID MARRY DAREDEVIL!!!!!!!!!!!

I DO NOT WANT TO SEE THE WALT DISNEY ANIMATION BEFORE IRON MAN 2 MOVIE!!!!!!!!!

I DO NOT WANNA INCLUDE A WALT DISNEY LOGO ON MY BLOGSKIN!!!

so after doing some research, i am a little relieved.

1) Marvel stays Marvel. Paying homage to "The Mouse"'s tendency to water down material for its family audience, Iger addressed the big worry. "There will be no Disneyfication of Marvel," he said in a press conference. He added that Marvel will continue to work independently. "We plan to keep Marvel as an entity and to respect both the talent that is there, working as one, and also respect what Marvel is and what the essence of Marvel is."

2) It's all about story and character. Twice in his address, Iger referred to the characters and storytelling in the Marvel universe. Later, he added that the studio behind Captain Jack Sparrow and Donald Duck recognizes good fictional talent when they see it. "It's a business we're very familiar with," Iger said. "Well-known characters and weird stories and a product that transcends gender and age and geographic territories."

3) For now, no Tony Stark's Haunted Mansion. During his morning address, Iger touted the possibilities of Disney's global resources to expand and tie in with Marvel. Later, he specified that Disney will respect previous Marvel deals. For example, Universal theme parks currently run Marvel-themed rides. Also, studios like Fox and Sony still distribute franchises like X-Men and Spider-Man, respectively. "There are also some legacy agreements that Marvel has in a variety of ways, to the theme park with Universal, to the distribution of the live-action films," Iger said. "So until some of these things work their course, or until we get a better sense when the deal closes, there isn't much planning that can be done until we reach an agreement."

4) Pixar is paving the way for Marvel. Remember when Disney thought they could do without Pixar? They were going to make their own version of Toy Story 3 and everything. Then they realized that only Pixar is Pixar. Well, same with Marvel. Iger even brought in John Lasseter to help him make the case to Marvel. "There is a whole culture attached that was a huge part of their success, and I didn't want to do anything that messed with that culture," Iger said. "I had John Lasseter [talk to Marvel] with me and then without me, so that he could talk to them more about Disney. He gave them some perspective on that, and it was very positive."

5) As Hannah Montana says, "It's the best of both worlds." Rather than harp on potential conflicts, edgy subtext vs. lucrative merchandising, etc., Iger focused on the potential for pooling Marvel and Disney resources. They already travel the same ground in creating story and characters for movies, television, literature and more. "When you look at it as a part of the Walt Disney Co., the presence of Marvel is virtually in everything that we're in," Iger said. "You can expect that over time, that's what you will see. We became impressed with the talent of Marvel as we got to know them better."

i guess marvel really needs a media powerhouse to finance its movies.

haircut and ice cream

Chapter 2 gave me a new hairstyle again.
i've been visiting C2 for quite some time now coz i always have $10 discount voucher from my school's goodie bag which i've ran out of it now. so anyway i went with steph and chius coz they wanted to cut their hair too but i ended up being the only one who had a haircut. they changed their mind coz they dun haf the cut-hair-mood. -_- girls.

before that i think i had the longest fringe of all time, can touch my nose with it and it keeps covering my right eye. it irritates me the most when i'm in lecture and reading notes coz it keep dropping and poking my eye. i can't concentrate at all!!

zheng nian's was also as long as mine, we keep swinging our hair back and he said we look like Aunty Lucy. *so embarassing*.

i wanted to get a short and neat haircut to prepare for ber's wedding! ha, so now it's quite neat and not really THAT short. i hope its still presentable in a months time!

i can't get used to the new haircut, probably coz i din had a parting as my stylist said, and it's black again! she cut off all my brown bits, left a lil bit on the fringe. its all styled to the front but after a while i tot it looks not bad and i dun hafta really style it. looks nice naturally.

oh wells. meet me to see.

so i've been indulging in very fattening desserts the past few days. but it's my fav! ICE CREAM.

1. Marble Slab Creamery

we went to ilumna to eat marble slab icecream! the freshest ice cream on earth (as they claimed) hails all the way from US, franchised here.

check it out!
http://www.marbleslab.com/

it's really nice, but very very pricey!!!

2. U.D.D.E.R.S

they had a stop at bukit timah, opens till 12midnite everyday! yay!
and it's REALLY NICEEEEEE. one of the best local ice cream i've ever eaten and a large range of flavours to choose from! from D24 Durian to Gila Melaka, to alcoholic flavours Java Whiskey Choc, Orange Choc Bitters and the nicest Tira-miss-u.
Warning: strong alcohol content.

too bad they dun haf my fav blackforest at that time.

highly recommended. price wise still acceptable!

3. Pukka

Every week pukka once. the first time we went it was 4 mins after their closing time and we had to bluff them we came all the way from bedok so that they will let us in. hahah. they did nevertheless. oh it's just beside the prata shop at NUS, and they extended opening hours to 1am! woohoo!

i love their cheesecake ice cream coz it's really rich. and they give really HUGE balls in your cup.
real value for money coz it's 2.50 per scoop and u get a HUGE one.

onli thing is they have limited range of flavours.

eat and eat and eat and get fat.
ok time to rush my tutorials and lab report.
