Neab in sg June bird paradise

Jarren: I don't know how many times you want to welcome your friend to Sg.

Me: My friend lives in Bangkok, I see him more times than Jarren who lives in Sg.

Yes, Neab is here again after 4 months. He was supposed to come in August -_- He arrived on Friday, I had to work so we met on Saturday at City Hall after I met Domi for lunch, work and coffee. Went to Pan Pac Orchard for some photos but the sky was too cloudy and not nice for pictures, so we walked to Fook Kin for some roast pork. It was not cheap though, about $30 per person but it was quite good.

Then we went for some wine at this new hotel rooftop bar that Domi introduced, and it was quite nice!

And then we adjourned to Praelum wine bar which I've always wanted to go, two bottles of wines. This was the most I've drank since my surgery lol. Domi joined us, then managed to catch the last bus back.

Next day morning was bai bai at aunt's place, then it was Bird paradise! Perfect chance for me to visit the place!

This Bird Paradise was much better than the previous bird park. The penguin pen, the walking trails, the open cages, it was like playing hide and seek with the birds and surprises everywhere. It is quite awesome. Luckily we went on the last Sunday before school starts the next day and there were very few kids. We got to get close to the birds but can't touch them.

I don't know since when but I've always loved Toucans. It is so cute I really want it as a pet but I just googled they can't be pets -_-

Anyway after Bird Paradise Neab was craving nasi lemak and the only place I could think of was Coconut Club so we headed that direction. Halfway I google mapped and found the Cafe Ponggol Nasi Lemak which was cheaper than Coconut Club so we headed there at city hall. It was really quite good and more value for money than CC. After that we walked to Suntec, Donki, Millenia walk and end of day.

Next day Monday we had lunch and he passed me the Jim Beam that he helped me buy, then coffee and off he goes to the airport. Honestly I'm running out of places to bring him hahaha. 

Neab in sg will continue... in August most probably.

Mid year review

Recently I just did my objective setting for the upcoming fiscal year and I realised it's mid 2023 already!!!

I just feel that after my Japan trip I haven't completed anything significant, I haven't travelled to anywhere significant, I haven't bought anything significant, I'm just like... doing things day to day. Is that a good thing? I guess?

I mean every day is almost the same to me, I have a lot of free time and energy now I stopped gym for 1 month, working on project Kaya, saving lotsa money hehe. I've also been staying home most weekends, only going out for coffee and books, I haven't really met any friends for the past few months. I haven't bought any new shoes or bags or clothes for such a long time!!!

Last weekend I went to Burberry and I really liked their Oatmeal Mileage colour t-shirt.

But it's $690. SIGH. WHY. I seriously can't spend $690 on a tshirt.

I think I need to go somewhere or buy something significant that's worth remembering, otherwise August is going to be really hectic.

The long season

I just finished watching the best drama in China.

I ran out of shows after Succession ended (it was a really good season) so I turned to the hottest chinese drama and it was on youtube with English subs. I never thought I would like a chinese show lol.

All in all, I am really really impressed by the scale of the drama - they replicated the 1970s with so much details and the acting were superb. The script was wonderful and every scene was quite interesting. It all rounded up to a good reveal at episode 11 and the ending was so melancholic. It wasn't the typical happy ending that almost all China drama, it was actually quite a sad ending.

And then the ending song started playing... and then it was like... wow. so much feels and so retro. Each end credit song really fits the whole episode. Now I really understood why this show was so popular. 

Meanwhile I finished this show I'm still stuck at home. It's really a long recovery season for me.

Recovery day 12

It's getting better, I don't feel much discomfort but still a little bit sore and pain here and there around the area but at least I can sleep sometimes on my sides. I still have to wear the compression vest which is quite annoying. I even went to the office and for a haircut on Thursday.

Showering is easier but not like normal because I can't use much upper body strength and I can't lift my arms for long. I can't do huge movements, I still have to move slowly to avoid pain or any injury. I still can't go to the gym, I can feel my muscles deteriorating and my body getting soft urgh. I don't know if it's a good thing that I went to the gym a lot before the surgery so the rate of deterioration is slower? 

Anyway I just want to train up asap.

Almost back to normal. Getting there. I need to hang on to 2 more weeks for my follow up. 

More bonus and aerogram

As much as I need to save money, last week I just got my pay increment and bonus - which is more than previous years because our company did quite well, and now I feel like rewarding myself and spending 😭😭😭

And I just found out that LV had some new items from my favourite aerogram collection 😭😭😭

The refreshed city keepall without the useless handles and the new fastline messenger.

Why!!!!! Why so nice and just the right size for my umbrella!!! 

And also they have a new aerogram wallet!!! Why!!!
