pre-holiday threading

Me: Can you do my lower part?
Pinoy: No Sir, too thick....
Me: No, look here... there are so many fine hair
Pinoy: No Sir, too thick...

This is my worst threading experience ever. Not because it is painful but this dumb threader didn't want to thread the lower part of my face because she saw thick strands of facial hair but the fact is she did not do the fine hair properly. And she just stood there saying no sir too thick when I pointed at the area with fine hair. Either she has no skill or she is too lazy to bother. Her Indian colleagues have done that part too many times.

So pissed with the Pinoy.

Lesson learnt: Always go for the Indian experts.

Looking back 2016

January to March
First day of the year was spent in Tokyo as usual, Hatsumode and good fortune.
Went for Amei Amit concert, totally worth it, sadly two other friends couldn't make it
Rabbit first time.
Birthday cake.
Went to Universal Studios Singapore for the first time for a company event.
Went back to Port Dickson for Chinese New Year, not skipping it anymore.
Got an Ipad for my parents.

April to June
Almost went to Bangkok with my cousins in April.
Went to Tokyo and Hakone in May for spring. Food and shopping was fantastic as usual. L'Effervence and Gen  Yamamoto were wows. Finally got my Knot watch.
Ate at Jaan for a birthday.
Sauna for the first time.
My grandma's death anniversary in June.
Almost went to Peru with Issey and gang .

July to September
Starting to feel frustrated at work.
Pokemon Go landed in Singapore.
Singapore won first Olympic Gold medal.
Went to Phuket and some other Thai Islands in August.
Waited 20 years (ok maybe less) for Les Miserables. So worth it. I almost didn't catch it.
$410 for a new pair of specs. My previous one lasted 8 years.

September to December
Almost went Adelaide to visit Pear with friends, but it was the Monitor period so I couldn't go.
Finally got a gym membership after 1 year of contemplating which gym to join. LOL. I started gymming religiously at night after work and on weekends.
Restaurant week in October.
My TV went bust after 3 months.
Did my GMAT and got an unexpectedly lousy score. I have no idea what I want to do next.
Met so many people this period.
Exciting opportunity coming up.
Had a relatively quiet Christmas.
Spent the last day of the year resting, reading my comics, clearing my stuff and some online shopping. I just want to slack and relax and leech on my parents (just kidding).

2016.
Just as I expected, this year was a stable year. A lot of plans got delayed from the start of the year but eventually completed by the end of the year. Phew... GMAT, gym, promotion, whatever.
I did cut down on my expenditure on travelling and saved up this year. A few almost-went trips this year. From July, I did an excel sheet to record every expense everyday but all those big ticket expenses are eating up my savings. Most of my spending are on food, especially the countless buffets I went this year; and drinks. I drank too much this year, I have to cut down on that. I also cut down on my travelling, I skipped my annual snow pilgrimage at the end of year. Not exactly skip but postpone to Feb.

Work-wise although stable, my job satisfaction is heading south by the second half of the year. Sometimes I feel like I'm stuck here. I also got to know a lot of interesting people through different channels, especially towards the end of the year. When you meet people with different stories, you understand yourself more and know what you want or do not want and what you value more.

On the flip side, 11 years of blogging. Wow. Pat on my back.

2017.
The horoscope says this year is going to be an exciting year with lots of opportunity and I really hope for that. I'll definitely look out for better opportunities this year and focusing my time and expenses into better experience returns. Also, I hope I can carry on with my gym schedule and see results at the end of the year.

Other than that, know more people, gain more experience, fight harder. Onwards!
