The grind continues

Finally. After 5 days of MC and 10 days of healing my foot is finally not in pain. It was horrible, the doctor sent me to A&E for an incursion but the A&E doctor said it's not required, just let it heal on its own which I am so glad. I couldn't sleep the previous night because I keep imagining the needle going through my foot. So, I bought 3 tubs of Haagen Daz and a cheesecake to celebrate and to snack at home while watching Netflix.

It was an awesome break. The series I finished:
1. Sabrina season 2
2. Daredevil season 3
3. Love Death Robots
4. Kim's Convenience season 3
5. American Gods

and I also re-watched Winter Soldier - still so damn good, and Interstellar. What a productive rest, and some people visited LOL.

I can walk normally now but the doctor adviced me not to do any footwork or apply pressure on my foot too much. No running or legs day. Only upper body and swimming for cardio.

The only cardio I'm doing now is eating.

my sole died

After walking so much in China I already had a blister/loose skin on my sole of my right foot, then going to the gym to do cardio and legs on Saturday and Sunday worsen it, and Tuesday there were a little bit of internal bleeding and Wednesday I can hardly walk so Thursday I went to see the doctor.

The doctor gave me 2 days of MC and asked me to follow up on Monday. My foot is causing me so much inconvenience and pain right now, sometimes I can't sleep at night and I can't go out at all. I find it so hard to even go to the toilet. Argh, and the worse thing is the doctor said it might take weeks for it to heal OMG. How am I going to go back to work!!! I have so many important meetings.

Today is the second day of MC and I'm officially bored. I am binge-watching Netflix and reading my books. I can't go out, I can't go to the gym, I can't buy my desserts omg. Plus I have nobody to complain to and nobody to talk to because everyone is in Bangkok.

Argh. I hate this.

my sole hurts

I have no idea why my hip area hurts like rope-burn and there's a huge blister on my sole.

It started on Sunday, I suspect there's some friction between my canvas belt and my waist so my waist line burns.

And the sole? I thought it was going to be fine on Sunday after legs and core day, but it got worse on Monday and today I practically walk with a limp and my right sole hurts like hell. I have no idea if it is a blister or something else argh.

The talk and move

I also wanted to talk about it, so we talked about it on Sunday night. It's complicated for a while now, I think we have to clear things up because both of us have to move. Yea I have to move.

Shanghai Guangzhou Spring 2019

This is a really random trip because I never expected to go back Shanghai so early because I was already there in December, but well, different motivation and different people. It was arranged during reservist, Kelvin was posted to Shanghai and I wanted to introduce some friends to him, and Andy wanted to tag along so yea it happened. I stayed at Tao's while Andy stayed at Kelvin's.

One-way ticket from SG to SHH via Spring Airlines is only $177 but I will not take Spring Airlines ever again.
1. The seats are horribly hard and UNRETRACTABLE. Really? This is the first time I took a flight with unretractable seats.
2. People were talking so loudly, especially that the 2 gentleman behind me were talking non-stop for 3 hours into the flight in some dialect I can't even understand, and it is a red-eye flight. People need to sleep.
3. The timing is ok, but landing at 4.30am makes me super grumpy although customs were super fast.
Conclusion: I will never take a budget airlines for more than 3 hours. I had my tablet to save me from boredom.

Luckily there were midnight airport bus to Jingan with costs 10 times less than the cab. I reached at 6am, took a quick nap and went out at 11am to begin the "tour". Days were spent eating and drinking bubble tea, while night time were spent with Tao. I went to find Sherry to tailor some office wear.
First night he actually cooked Tom Yam soup from scratch, I was super impressed because everyone uses a paste and he wasn't the cooking type and it actually tasted good omg. Then we went to Project W for drinks.

Second day it stopped raining. Zhongshan park, Natural History Museum, Bund and tianzifang. At night was with Gabby and Shikai.
Third day was the usual fine dining Dim Sum with Tao, Guchun park for Sakura and at night at Atelier with Nigel and Danielle.

Forth day was brunch with Tao, Qibao and propagenda art museum with Kelvin and Andy, then Lao Wang dinner.
Fifth day nothing much, just waiting for the flight to GZ. The new China Southern plane was amazing. Our hotel was also amazing and amazingly cheap, dim sum was so good, and the best was the double milk pudding dessert at Ren Xin. That was dabomb.

Second day at Guangzhou was Baiyun Shan, Nanyue Kingdom Palace which was quite good, then Shamian Island and updown street. Brunch was Yin Ji Chang Fen which looks beautiful and dinner at this small Michelin recommended noodles shop, then we went grocery shopping and back to hotel.

Last day we ate dimsum at Tao Tao Ju, which was expensive but quite good. Then Canton tower, bubble tea and double layer milk pudding x 2, then to the airport. Andy brought me into the lounge which was a relief coz the food onboard was so bad.

The Guangzhou leg was really a eating trip. It's so much cheaper than Hong Kong and more bubble tea, but other than that there's nothing much to do there, except buy fake stuff.

The Shanghai leg was really just visiting and catching up with friends, although I didn't really catch up much with them and I had to bring a friend around. It's so inconvenient.

Another conclusion: Don't travel with people you are not familiar with or boring people, although he's nice LOL.
