May day holidays at Beijing

This May day holiday I'm taking a break, away from everything to clear my head and stuff. I was supposed to be more excited but now I'm just feeling.. average.

Heading to Beijing because the last time I went I didn't see enough, I haven't been to the great wall or look around the city etc., and this time round I'll have more than enough time!

I hope the weather is good and meet good people!

end April to May

As I read some of the blogs by students, I realised end April to May is the exam period. I almost forgot how that feels like, studying and working is totally different.

You have to find a motivation for work because nobody is gonna grade you on the quality or punctuality of your work that you are producing. Working is like doing projects (for me) all the time, there's a deadline but in between, you can do whatever you want as long as you meet the deadline or your manager is not breathing down your neck.

Life, on the other hand, is a different kind of stress. I'm currently experiencing extreme life stress.

what is more epic

When I thought my life was running smoothly by itself, a pot hole comes up and tips it off the balance.

I really have no idea why my life in China is so epic.

Do I want an epic life? Of course not!
I mean I have been a good person, not doing immoral stuff or anything  (slacking on the job or porn doesn't count), why does my luck have to be like that.

Why can't I just have a safe and secure life so I can trouble about other things?

Gosh.

Like seriously? I was beginning to enjoy it here but now I'm really considering going back to Singapore even before my 2 years are up. My losses are more than what I've gained.

I have always believed in the principle of equivalent trade in the universe. In order to gain something, you have to lose something of equal value. That goes the other way round. I will be waiting for my equal value to come.

12 annual leave

12 days of annual leave is really saddening. That's one of things I really feel sad for myself for working here.

I have to really plan my holidays and use my pathetic 12 days with extra caution. And I heard from some of my friends, some workers in the factory only have 4 or 5 days and most workers in banks have only 10 days of annual leave! How do they survive in the working environment for so long?!

Ok, it may seem like we'r quite used to the 16-24 days of annual leave in Singapore, or we already expect that much of annual leave in a company. One of my friends in a bank in Singapore has 26 days, my friend in MFA has at least 20 days, and I have only 12!!

Sighs... 12 days....

off with her head

I really have an issue with professionalism of people in China.

I asked our training coordinator if she is free to help us get a few starbucks during the training and she replied it is not in her job-scope and welcome me to discuss her job scope with her manager. I wanted to bite off her fingers from her phone one by one, tear off her limbs, splash acid at her face, tangle her hair in a fire, soak her in sugar water and leave her at an bullet ant's nest.

Another example, my co-worker told me that she doesn't feel respected, and I ask her what did I do, she said 'nothing'.
She also said that she felt that her work wasn't recognised by me. I haven't even seen her work.
I wanted to put her in front of a nano-laser beam so it could disintegrate her atom by atom, starting from her toes.

So what? I'm supposed to do communication and teamwork with them?

云台山,少林寺,洛阳

It was a really random trip because I have never intended to go to Shaolin Temple at all during my stay here.
It was a great trip, beautiful scenery but ugly china people. I witnessed the really ugly side of China, so I was really glad I'm back in Shanghai. China still has a long way of developing.

Beautiful mountains, and it's the mudan festival at Luoyang so we captured a lot of flowers and ate street food and very cheap bubble tea and ice cream. Very good BBQ at Zhengzhou too!

Zhengzhou total damage: 2028.50rmb (720rmb of it was on flight)

Qing Ming

The poem goes 清明时节雨纷纷 which means it will rain during Qing Ming festival in 2 days time, and I hope it doesn't rain because I'll be going to Shaolin temple!

I took leave on Wednesday and Sunday for this trip to climb 2 mountains and see 1 river!

I have 2 documents pending for review, which deadline is this weekend, but it seems impossible now that it is 6pm and my reviewer hasn't been in the office since morning, so....... I will have my holiday while my co-worker reviews with her tomorrow. Haha.
