knock

i went home yesterday! and today too!

then i was digging for some food in the fridge and closed the fridge door very quickly without realising i have not pulled my head completely out of the fridge..
and the fridge door knocked onto my lower jaw.

ouch.

still looking inside the fridge when i was closing the door.
the consequences of being greedy. ):

and i earned extra allowance from my tuitioning!
so i wun feel bad about shopping la! heh.

good luck to the kid! tmr's his worse nightmare: the maths paper. haha

birthdays sundays

my hall internet connection is a lil dorky,
for the past 2 days i can't seem to log on to msn and can't connect to blogger website! so thus the delay...

last sunday was superb!

we met up FINALLY with plans to go ecp to cycle, but mother nature has other plans... so we got to know that it was raining heavily at ecp while we were still lunching at shokudo.

and we celebrated kailing's super belated and pear's bdae! :)
so wet weather plan= shopping and eating! haha.. woon pear and me shared this ultra big yoghurt ice cream from yoguru, niceee and we are going to have good digesting process afterwards. haha. and desserts again at MOF, marina sq.

rain, rain
go away,
come again another day!
(except next sunday)

headed down to bugis to meet the dearies!

haha another bdae celebration again!
ha so sorry i kept missing my directions and bringing them across the dangerous bugis road. heh.

At Crystal Jade Hong Kong Cafe at Liang Seah.

Jay Chou with his presents. hope u liked them!

i suspect Kenny is a closet camwhore!
he takes the perfect photoes with all of us together! haha

tuition kid

i really hand it to my tution kid.

His mathematics is REALLY BAD, sometimes i feel like i'm speaking spanish to him, but he still understands, he just dun see the light at the end of the tunnel.

and it sort of disappointing to me, coz i'm always scolding him for not reading the questions carefully, and he STILL has problems with his timetables.

this is worrying for a primary 4 standard!!

but then again, the primary 4 mathematics now is a lot more difficult than our era, i doubt i can do all the sums when i'm in primary 4!
Problem sums like find the volume of water in the tank after 2/5 of the water has been poured out. i wonder if i knew how to derive the answer when i was his age.

it's really scary to think of what they'r teaching now in school as compared to that of our time. i mean why would they wanna raise the standard when some of the students can't catch up! and it also adds much stress to them and their parents as well. Childhood should be as carefree and fun for kids and we shouldn't deprive them of it and turn it into a stressful and torturous stage of their lives.

well, judging by the way the kid analyses the questions, i can tell that he's more of an arts person rather than mathematics person. like he'll comment that why the stickers are so expensive.. why john earns so much money.. that kinda stuff usually people don't really take note of.

and he does the darnest things.
he still counts additions, subtractions and multiples using his fingers. i told him that he shouldn't count with his fingers anymore now that he's primary 4 already,
he says okay,
brings up his feet,
and counted using his toes.

talk about lame.

balloons

can u see her?

haha this was quite some time ago, when woon and i had to transport 50 MARBLE BALLOONS in a cab to naifen's bdae party venue.

come to think of it, i tot it was an incredible feat!
and super funny too! hahaha

luckily we ain't that big sized. i guess the taxi driver was super amused too!

guess which glutton's back!

Mr Monash spokesperson, fan of all apple products, Mr Sean Tan.

hahaha
oops i was browsing through my photoes i can't find any pictures taken with him!
well there's always facebook :) haha.

something interesting: Each of his family members owns the iphone. so cool!
a family of iphones, imagine family gatherings everyone whips out their iphone and starts surfing the internet. hahaha just kidding sean!

so friday we went along to dine at Relish, a branch of Wild Rockets. then settled for desserts at Island Creamery!
sorry for the burgers, i knew u already had loads of them in Auz. haha. and the pink killer beer is super nice!

wah long since i've gone to Island creamery for ice cream! i really missed those days we used to celebrate our bdaes during the first 3 months of JC.

he said he'll upload the photoes after he gets back to Auz, so that'll be like soon la. haha

saturday was retail therapy again with albert and mab! haha. Retail therapy.
Bert is the ultimate shopperholic. He owns almost all the membership cards you can think of.. NUM.. Fred Perry.. the patisserie..
and he indulges in shopping when he's overseas.
and he contributes a large proportion to singapore's economy! haha.
but he's a very good shopping guide and retail advicer la. i always enjoy shopping with him. haha.

by the way the patisserie has the awesomest cakes ever! but at a lil high price.. heh.

sunday brunch at waraku with woon and denise! :)

i'm still in love with the pasta and pizza!

and we got a complimentary dessert too, thanks to the chef who got my pasta mixed up, used fettuccine instead of spagetti for my pasta.

Tiramisu with ice-cream, strawberries, bananas and cornflakes topped with chocolate sauce.
looks so sinfully tempting isn't it? haha :)

Denise invited us to attend her church after that, so i was okay with it coz woon wanted to go too. Then we indulged in some wonderful waffles at cottage waffle place after that, we shared a fondue for two.

it's all eat eat eat eat and eat during weekends,
i think i just gained like 5 kg this weekend indulging in all the sinful stuff!

GLUTTONY is such a sin!

and it doesn't help at all when i go home every friday and my dad will buy my favourite supper: the kuay teow in black. who can resist not eating that!!!

and my mum cooks all the nice stuff.. so i have to eat double lunch or double dinner!

i missed my running this weekend!
means i have to run double the distance next weekend to burn all the calories i've gained over the two weeks.

sighs... the sinful effects of shopping and eating.

maths quiz today...

maths quiz today...

i got the paper and finished the 2 questions in matter of one or two minutes, while it was a 30 minutes paper. and spent some time checking the answers, then tutor prompted me if i wanna hand up my paper and i readily agreed.

the 2 questions were SUPER easy, i checked it over and over again, and even after i handed up i still went through it over my head, hoping for a perfect full marks that will get me an A+, since i've only got an A in my previous quiz.

well, seconds after i handed up the paper something twitched in my brain and i realised i've made a really careless mistake in my calculations.

i just forgot to square the (x+1) in the last part, so the answer differs by an x.
argh.
complacency led to my downfall.

a little disappointed with myself, maths has always been my forte. i can't keep using the excuse that army had retarded my brain cells coz my other guy friends did perfectly fine. and it never improves the situation to find out that you have made a mistake seconds after you had confidently handed up the paper.

oh wells. i can't get back the paper to edit my answers now although i knew where i've gone wrong. the lesson to take back today is to never hand in your paper before you have properly checked your answers even if your tutor prompted you to do so before the 30 minutes is up.

carelessness. mayb affected by my tutee.
ok excuses again.

nevertheless, it's still an A- or something similar.

A*mei Star

A*mei Star World Tour is seriously most awesome!

One of the main reason, ok it's the only reason i signed up for this Indoor Stadium job is for this concert. haha.

it's the best concert i've ever been to!!
sorry, no pictures coz i was working.

All the songs sang live were evidence that ah mei is still the heavenly diva.
she held her stamina all the way to the last song, to the encore songs. the energy, the vocals, the emotions, the dancing, all so perfectly executed.

the love ballads like 'Ru Guo Ni Ye Ting Shuo' (my fav song of the year), 'Ji De' and 'Yuan Lai Ni Shen Me Dou Bu Yao' maintained their recorded standards and spoke volume of how i felt recently. the magic of ah mei's vocals touched everyone in the stadium.

oh when she sang 'Ji De' which was the second or third song, she teared coz she was too overwhelmed by the warm audience.

special songs she sang alicia key's 'If i ain't got you' super good, and yanzi's 'Tian Hei Hei' and a concert premeire of a jap song which she sang in her musical in japan.

Not forgetting her fast songs like 'Qian Shou', 'Bad Boy', ' Volare', the audience were all bursting with energy, shouting their lungs out, jumping to the tunes, singing along with her.

oh man i could still feel some residual energy of the audience now. haha.

the last song 'San Tian San Ye' was the climax. everyone were on estacy, including me, but i had to remain calm although one of the fans beside me prompted me to jump along. haha. well professionalism counts.

oh man. i seriously have to kbox to blast some ah mei tunes. seriously she is the goddess! who can resist her high-ness?!

the next time she's having a concert, i'll still be there.
Not as a Guest Care Officer but a fan in the audience seat highing to her songs!

prawns

My dad bought a few VERY BIG prawns,
i have no idea what kind of prawns they are, they'r really big.

How to steam BIG prawns:

You need:

Big Prawns
water for boiling
slices of ginger
some salt and pepper
sesame oil
some hua diao jiu

1. Remove the prawns out of the freezer and let them thaw at room temperature.

2. Season the prawns with a dash of sesame oil, hua diao jiu, a pinch of salt and some pepper, and slices of ginger.

3. While waiting, boil the water in a steamer.

4. When water is boiled to steam, place the prawns in the middle of the rack above the boiling water, and cover.

PS: do not open the cover and face in immediately, unless you want to have a hot and steamy facial.

5. Time for 8-10 minutes

6. Remove the prawns from the steam. Caution: Hot!

7. and Voila! Fresh Steamed Juicy Big Prawns!

For best results, eat immediately! :)
Full of Oceanic Goodness!
