Covid Positive

Sunday - I was having some itchy throat but I guess it was because of the curry that my mum cooked. But I stayed at home the whole day.

Monday - I went to the gym, came back and had a bit of sore throat. I assumed it was throat infection because I had been eating too heaty stuff lately. I did an ART test and came out negative. Phew.

Tuesday - I went to office but I felt something not right with my body. After lunch at a crowded foodcourt, I was a bit groggy and had a little bit of fever so I went home early. I did an ART test and came out negative, but I think I need some antibiotics or else my fever will not go away. I went to the clinic downstairs but it was closed, so I went to a further one. I told the nurse I'm quite sure it wasn't Covid because my ART turned out negative but they had to do it as a procedure.

The second line didn't appear and he was about to throw the kit away, and then after a few seconds it appeared. -_-
It is the first time I am Covid positive.
I can't believe it. I went overseas a few times and didn't even get it. I think Saturday when I went 313 to get my earphones fixed, and then I felt funny on Sunday, then it multiplied on Tuesday by the crowded foodcourt near office - there were just so many people and I didn't wear my mask urgh. Anyway, sore throat, slight fever, that's it. My head is still very clouded because of the concoction of meds that I had to take and I slept a lot.

The best thing is the 7 days MC.
I was looking for an excuse to skip tomorrow's meeting and this came right on time.
But after I emailed the meeting chair she said they had audio recording and I can do the minutes after I get better. Really?!?!

Also Neab is visiting this weekend and I had to cancel the restaurant lunch just in case I can't recover well enough by Saturday. No gym for 7 day ahhhhhhhh.

House

On Sunday night I was casually clicking my usual property search and suddenly a new listing appeared and it was actually quite reasonably priced as compared to the rest. So I texted the agent and she asked me to go down for a viewing tomorrow night. It was really fast. I hesitated but I thought I had nothing to do so I said ok. That night I spent hours thinking about scenarios.

Monday evening (yesterday) I went down to the house and there was already a lady looking around the house and one of the owners was there as well. The agent was super friendly and we were very casually chatting until Wei Ling came over.

The house was quite well maintained. They renovated 6 years ago but the design was really simple, and the layout was exactly what I wanted. There were parts like the toilet, kitchen, the spoilt wine chiller and the washing machine area which I didn't like but everything else was normal. At least I didn't need to spend money to hack the walls but I do need to change the tiles and renovate the whole kitchen and toilet and the false ceiling, and it felt like a waste of their renovation 6 years ago.

We also chat with the owner for a while and then the agent and I went downstairs to negotiate a little bit. The agent was really funny and she was really rooting for me to get the house because she prefers me to my competitor, so I offered a little lower than the listed price.

But that afternoon I just checked that my HDB loan letter had expired and I need to reapply plus I need to appeal - urgh complicated so it's gonna take a while. So she said she would update me if my competitor had offered anything because the first person who offers the listed price will get it.

During dinner, the agent texted me that my competitor had offered the listed price and asked me if I wanted to offer the same so it would be up to the seller to decide. She said she was really anxious because she really wanted me to get it but the sellers might not want to wait for my loan letter.
First time agent more anxious than the buyer LMAO.

My competitor took a bank loan so she could buy the house anytime. I told the agent to wait for me to calculate my finances and see if I can also take up a bank loan to compete with her.
And I can't :/
I don't have so much cash for down payment so I can only use HDB loan which I have to wait. It's fate. If it is mine, then it will be mine.

In the end of course the seller chose my competitor. There was just a bit of risk in choosing me and honestly, I was quite relieved. I was so stressed up for 24 hours, thinking about money, the HDB loans and appeals etc that I didn't sleep well. I think I wasn't mentally prepared to offer on the spot as well, but it was a really good experience.

I almost bought a house.

Ariel Birthday

Saturday was another cousin's baby's birthday at Tolido's cafe so all of us cousins gathered again and ate buffet again. It's Ariel's first birthday and the first time I see her in a while.

But this time the food was actually ok and the coffee was great. It was ala carte buffet. Honestly, I think it's the parents who wants to celebrate one year of surviving the baby haha. The baby probably don't even understand what is going on and she was so tired by the time the party ended. Nikolai and Leonid were so cute as usual. Leonid can just keep kicking the ball until he forgets everything lol.

Anyway after the super filling party me and WL went to MBS to try out the Prada bucket hat that I wanted to get but turns out I can't wear bucket hats -_-
We also went to LV to see my studio messenger but it was out of stock urgh. Not like I'm gonna buy anyway. I really need to decide what kind of bag I need.
Also, there was a food festival at the event area beside MBS but we need to purchase a ticket to get in?
Nah. I'll rather eat indoors with comfort so we went to Cedele for a drink, shopped at Watsons and home.
