Hello another pair of sneakers

In a turn of events, a week after I collected my Hermes sneakers I saw somebody posting their Givenchy sneakers in instagram and I was wondering if they were fake (coz they look rather fake). So I went Carousell to try to find them.

And when I searched, there were no traces of that pair of sneakers, but there was this other pair which was posted an hour ago, totally new, my size, and it was really really reasonably priced and collection place was at Holland V which is quite near my place.
After thinking for 10mins I texted the seller, negotiated down a bit and went to collect the next day.

Hello new Givenchy Sneakers for only.... $100. I had a nice chat with the lady seller she was selling because she was moving house and just wanted to sell this. She bought these previously and found out they were too small for her. I saw this pair online retailing for $975. Wow! Very happy with my buys.

Many friends told me that this pair is so my style lol and were very shocked at the price. I was actually looking for a pair of darker coloured sneakers since the ones that I have bought recently are mostly white -_-.
In any case if I didn't want this I could always sell it for a profit haha.

Hello Hermes

I have been eyeing the Saint Laurent City Backpack for quite some time now on Carousell, the seller listed $540 but I was waiting for him to reduce to below $500 and suddenly it was sold! The next available one is $770 urgh.

So I decided not to wait for my Hermes sneakers, since I needed new sneakers to replace my Asics Lux. I texted the seller and she said somebody actually wanted to view the sneakers the next day but we can do a quick transaction today. LUCKY! And she's coming to Bukit Panjang so we can transact today. DOUBLE LUCK!
Presenting my first ever Hermes: The Hermes Avantage sneakers.

I got them for half the retail price. I did some research on how to authenticate Hermes sneakers, but it wasn't really needed since she has the original receipt but I took out the in-sole to check anyway. It's perfect, my size, the unique limited edition colours and she only worn once. This is actually ladies collection but I prefer this softer colourway compared to the men's collection.

I can't wait to bring them out!

Sida wedding

December 2020 Me, Woon and Sida met and he told us he recently got attached.
January 2022 Sida announced he bought a resale hdb with his gf? FiancĂ©?
June 2022 Sida's wedding
To be honest the wedding was too draggy. In the invitation he told the guests to sit down by 10.30am because the ceremony will start at 11am, and then there were so many... non essential things for the guests and they only started serving food at 1pm. We were really hungry by then lol.

The food was average, but the white wine was really good. It was a late harvest Riesling - one of my fav wines because it's a sweet wine and so easy to drink. The band was really good as well, he hired a band to sing live throughout until 4pm! What a feat!

Anyway it has been like 6 months since we met, so it's about time.

Farewell my fav asics

Please observe a minute of silence for one of my favorite pair of sneakers..
I always knew their time was reaching an end after I fixed them with superglue a while ago. I took them to cycle last Tuesday with Neab and then wore them today to work, and towards the end of the day the rubber sole dropped and I had to walk very carefully home. I thought about fixing them again but it has been 6 years since I got them, July 2016.

They are one of my most comfortable pair of sneakers. I still remembered I got them online at Hanon shop for $120 during a sale, it's one of the rare Asics Gel Lyte V with suede and leather components and this orange colourway. They are just perfect for walking and I have brought them overseas almost every time - the most recent one being Jordan where we trekked for many hours in Petra.

Here's a picture for me to remember by.
Alas, all comfortable shoes must come to an end. Farewell my Asics Gel Lyte V Lux Pack Sand. I really enjoyed our time together. It's time for another pair. Maybe the Hermes or LV one. Or the recent new Valentino Open Skates. Urgh so nice.

Neab in Sg - HPV and Sungei Buloh

One of my friend suggested Haw Par Villa and I was like wow I haven't been there for like what 20-30 years?? I can't even remember anything there except for the big dragon head which they demolished. That was such a significant symbol and I kinda missed that.

We met on Saturday afternoon directly at the MRT and the Haw Par Villa was right beside.
Anyway there wasn't much to see, we finished within the hour and decided to go Sungei Buloh Wetlands, so we cabbed there. Also, this was the second time I've been to the wetlands hahaha.
The weather was really hot but we stayed under the forest shades most of the time. Anyway it was a nice walk, we saw birds, big monitor lizards and fishes but it's a pity we didn't spot any crocodiles. I think it took 1-2 hours to walk the whole park and then we took a bus back to CCK where we had McDonalds for some snack and headed to Chinatown for the real dinner.
I always wanted to bring him here for Dong Bei food. It was so good and as usual, we over-ordered. I love Dong Bei food. We were so full and walked to Tanjong Pagar for ice cream, then walked over to the packed Epiphyte for drinks.

I haven't been in this area or any bars here for years. I feel like a tourist bringing a tourist around. But it was quite fun, I kind of felt like I was on a holiday as well. It was his last night here, he's flying off tomorrow but coming back again in September/October so I gotta think of new places again.

It was really nice to be out and about, and catching up with him. I think I haven't seen any close friends for a while now. I'm thinking of going Bangkok probably in July, but let's see.

Neab in Sg - Cycling from Marina to Changi

On Friday, it rained a little bit in the morning and I was thinking what a great day to cycle since the rain cooled down the hot weather from the past few days.

We met at Millenia Walk, had lunch at Kith Cafe and coffee at Commune, and walked to Singapore Flyer to rent our bikes. I did some research the day before and people actually cycled from Singapore Flyer all the way to Changi Airport to return the bikes! We were going to do the same and also because he wanted to see the Jurassic mile lol.
I haven't cycled in years and it felt so nice to just feel the breeze in your face and the beautiful Gardens by the Bay and the sea at East Coast Park. This shall be my cycling trail to my tourist friends lol. Also, we kinda went the long way toward Nicoll Highway to cross the river but there should be someway to cross via the Marina Barrage. Maybe next time.
We biked towards East Coast Park, resting and taking pics along the way and then went all the way to Changi Jurassic Mile. It was really quite fun, and I think the journey was about 2-3 hours. The weather was so kind to us.
This was my first time at Jurassic Mile too haha I'm such a tourist. Anyway we returned our bikes and decided to have dinner at Jewel. There were queue everywhere at 6.30pm, it was so crowded but we went to Tapas Club which only had a short queue. Also, this was my second time at Jewel.
I was exhausted from cycling whole afternoon but it was really really fun!

Neab in Sg - Slake, Soul Coffee and Peranakan House

Finally Neab came to visit Singapore after 2 years. We used to see each other a few times a year, we meet more times than he met Liam. So I was cracking my head on where to bring him because he had been here for so many times and I always have to bring him to see new things.

I took leave on Tuesday, we met for lunch at Slake - local fusion food, and then caught up a bit and then went to Soul coffee - this new hipster cafe with all the underwater/galaxy projections. And also because Chef Huang is working there now lol.
And after coffee we walked down to see the colourful Peranakan Houses which I have also never seen before and it started to drizzle a little bit. Then we walked down a bit further, shopped at little farms for avocado and then headed back to the city for dinner.

He was craving for Jap food so I brought him to Ma Maison Tonkatsu at Chijmes and then from there he went to Atlas for drinks with his friend. I also felt like a tourist on a holiday hahaha
