Because somebody is in town

Such a happening week!

During the weekend I went to Hangzhou to stay for the night at the hostel and I was so impressed by how wonderful the hostel was! Its was very hidden at a corner of a small lane and well decorated with chinese architecture and surprisingly clean for a cheap hostel! The bar was also very nice and cosy with a few people. I think it was better and more value for money than staying in a hotel.

A morning 1.5hr bus ride took us to Anji, the place famous for the great bamboo sea where they filmed crouching tiger hidden dragon. The place was very small, with no accessible public transport except for cabs and our hostel was very very isolated, although it's right beside the bamboo museum.

We took a cab to the mountains with the hidden dragon waterfall and it started raining heavily while ascending the mountain. The view from the top was pretty amazing with the rain clouds and fog. We then met an uncle who brought us to a reservoir they call sky pool. It was closed by he used some connections to let us enter and we were the only ones at the attraction!

The place was pretty boring at night, we took bus back to HZ the next morning. Overall a nice place but its better with a tour group with a driver.

The next few days brought somebody around, a lot of late nights and good meals like lunch at Mr and Mrs Bund, one of the best restaurants in Shanghai and My grandma, a cheap place for chinese food, famous for its long queue during dining hours. Black magic chocolate was pretty good too. Vue bar was disappointing, people smoke and not much seats, Shanghai brewery is much better.
