Good deals and top ups

I've already decided on the brands and models of my fridge and washing machine, I went down to Harvey Norman on 25 June to check out the prices. The sales person gave me quite a good deal, then I said I'll come back again the next day to confirm. I was too lazy to go back the next day haha.

Anyway for the next 2 weeks I went there, the sales person either wasn't there or on leave, and then I asked another sales person and she said the model was sold out -_-. Ok, it's not fated to be mine.

Mid July, I went to the Gain City near my place on a weekday and I met the worst sales person ever. I already told him I wanted this specific model, he went on to introduce to me all the Toshiba brand things and just criticising all the rest of the other brands. He really pissed me off but I kept a straight face, and when I said let me go back home and think about it, he just walked off. Wow.

So that week, Gain City had a big promotion - $70 off every $500 spent, so I went to the one at Marina Square near my office. I told the sales person I already knew what I wanted, he immediately sat me down, chatted with me and proceeded with the sales. When I thought it was already cheaper than HN, they gave me a further $100 discount plus free delivery! Woohoo! And the sales people were really really nice and friendly. I walked out of Gain City very satisfied with a $3700 purchase. Savings!

When I thought I had saved so much, LY just texted me saying the vinyl people said my floor needs a smoothing agent and top up of $1600.
My wallet and heart cracked a bit.
The laminate that Dom and I chose was a premium laminate and required an additional top up of $1800. My wallet and heart cracked a lot.

Last weekend after some taobao lessons from Maggie, I went to Nitori randomly to shop and saw there was a B grade queen bed on sale, and it was exactly what I wanted - the right size and with two big storage drawers. So I immediately bought it on 30% discount, and the defect was barely noticeable. Even cheaper than the one I wanted from fortytwo. Savings!

I gained some savings on good deals and lost a lot to premium things.
Goodbye the LV sneakers that I always wanted, I need to prioritize my spending.
