tuition kid

i really hand it to my tution kid.

His mathematics is REALLY BAD, sometimes i feel like i'm speaking spanish to him, but he still understands, he just dun see the light at the end of the tunnel.

and it sort of disappointing to me, coz i'm always scolding him for not reading the questions carefully, and he STILL has problems with his timetables.

this is worrying for a primary 4 standard!!

but then again, the primary 4 mathematics now is a lot more difficult than our era, i doubt i can do all the sums when i'm in primary 4!
Problem sums like find the volume of water in the tank after 2/5 of the water has been poured out. i wonder if i knew how to derive the answer when i was his age.

it's really scary to think of what they'r teaching now in school as compared to that of our time. i mean why would they wanna raise the standard when some of the students can't catch up! and it also adds much stress to them and their parents as well. Childhood should be as carefree and fun for kids and we shouldn't deprive them of it and turn it into a stressful and torturous stage of their lives.

well, judging by the way the kid analyses the questions, i can tell that he's more of an arts person rather than mathematics person. like he'll comment that why the stickers are so expensive.. why john earns so much money.. that kinda stuff usually people don't really take note of.

and he does the darnest things.
he still counts additions, subtractions and multiples using his fingers. i told him that he shouldn't count with his fingers anymore now that he's primary 4 already,
he says okay,
brings up his feet,
and counted using his toes.

talk about lame.
