yeah i was surprised when i got the email, coz the previous day i was flipping through the newspaper and i saw this '20 lucky readers get a chance to catch the premiere of Percy Jackson, simply email your info to ___' then i tried my luck and unbelievably got it the next day.
Review: (spoilers alert)
The direction was good (nothing goes wrong with fantasy and chris columbus), but weak charactor build-up, and totally expected and cliche story.
Come on, how many times has medusa been killed? or even the hydra? hades is still evil? All the bad guys are so overused and expected.
The female character, Annabeth-supposedly girlfriend, is like megan fox in transformers: a flower vase. She literally does nothing, i dunno why she joins them and shes not even really pretty or sexy, she doesn't fight well nor act well. All in all she's just an extra.
However...CGI and filmography are superb! i love the scene when Percy flies out of the building, towards the Empire state building and holding the lightning bolt.
Credits goes to Uma Thurman as Medusa, she really blended the image of Medusa into modern times and nothing less expected from Uma Thurman! My favourite line was her "ssssssneakk-a-peeeeeek"
Oh another is the soundtrack is really really good. I LOVED the soundtrack, featuring 'pokerface' and 'tik tok' and the music during ending credits is fabulous. Lotsa violins, very harry potterish and royal feel.
oh yea remember to catch the last part when the guy opens the fridge! haha
