First reservist

I used to think that I was left out on the reservist list because I left the country previously but turns out, I was still called up for reservist training. (This means that I have to leave the country soon.)

Anyway today concludes my first ever In-Camp Training and I am quite fortunate that this was a relaxed high key because it was super slack and we didn't have to go outfield at all. The furthest was going to the forested training area behind our building. That's all.

The first day I couldn't get used to the pace. The day before I was at work so everything was just click click click, end. Everything seemed to be in slow motion and my brain just couldn't take the slower pace. And, I haven't seen my friends for 10 years already, all of them have huge tummies and dad bods. Some people just don't change but well, to each his own. Compared to 10 years ago, I think I'm a better version of myself now.

Second day we cleared IPPT, and I was 20 seconds away from Gold as usual but the results were suprising coz I didn't train at all since 8 months ago. Hm... I think I should be able to get the $200 more by the end of the year.

Third day reminded me how much I hate army. Putting on the uniform, doing all the heavy work, getting dirty, cold showers etc. Argh I hate cold showers. And the cookhouse food is still terrible sometimes. How is serving overcooked vegetables and syrup water healthy??

One good thing, they finally realised that shouting does not solve problems. Incentive does. And everyone's incentive is to finish everything and book out quickly.

Overall, I like the flexibility and efficiency at which we complete our training this time round. So after the weekend it was quite relaxing for us already, which is like free leave days from work. Coming up next is another one relaxing one in November, I hope I can get a gold for the IPPT then.
