How to almost become a Japanese

  1. Plan your next Japan trip
    • Research on the place you want to go around Hokkaido and Tokyo in summer with the Shinkansen pass and book your hotels way in advance, probably 3-4 months earlier.
    • Tell your Japanese friends that you are going to visit and plan to go to the fireworks festival with them and visit the famous lavender fields.
    • Book the cheapest flight you can find, around $470 so you can fly on that day you end work and reach Japan in the morning to maximize your day and fits nicely with the train schedule.
  2. Join a Japanese language class
    • Use your skills-future funds and join a class that starts immediately every Tuesday and ends before you fly to Japan so that you can communicate better with your Japanese friends as well as the waitress at the Izakaya.
  3. Buy Japanese stuff
    • Visit the website that you are going to buy your ski jacket from and look at their selection.
    • Shortlist this $370 ski jacket and $200 ski jacket and pants that you like and then think about which one to get for a week.
    • Finally get down to buying the $370 one but last minute can't bear to click on the "confirm purchase" button but end up clicking anyway and get it sent to your cousin's hotel in Tokyo, just because you got another round of bonus from your company.
    • Get a text from your cousin saying she bought her set of ski clothes for $130 in Tokyo because of sale and try not to cry because yours is too expensive.
    • Plan to buy your pants cheaper then and begin to plan your next few winter seasons in Japan.
  4. Plan to buy Japanese alcohol
    • Go to a local bar that serves regionally produced spirits and get introduced to this amazing Japanese Gin and plan to buy many back. This is the first Japanese-distilled Gin made from local ingredients.
Finally, look forward and be excited and plan your attire everyday for the Japanese Summer!
Exactly 3 more months from now!
